How should I prepare for my appointment?
We recommend using a retinol product on your skin for 6 weeks prior to starting a microneedling series, but be sure to avoid any retinol product for 3 days prior to your appointment. It's important to note that microneedling cannot be done on an area with an active bacterial, viral/fungal infection, or acne.
What can I expect after my appointment?
Side effects are minimal and typically include minor flaking or dryness of the skin with scab formation in rare cases. Your skin may appear pink or red, like a sun burn, for 24-48 hrs after your treatment. Minor bruising is possible depending on the aggressiveness of the procedure. After treatment, do not wash your face for the first 24 hours & avoid sweaty exercise or sun exposure for 72 hours.
What results can I expect?
Microneedling is great for improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, large pores and texture issues. For best results, a series of 3 or 6 treatments spaced every 4-6 weeks is recommended.
