MICRONEEDLING

NatalieDawnPhotoLLC00017.jpg

Using fine precision needles to penetrate the surface layers of skin, Skinpen® Microneedling tightens, resurfaces, and rejuvenates the skin by naturally stimulating your own collagen production. Microneedling is a holistic approach to skin therapy. Your physiological wound response stimulates new healthy dermal and epidermal tissue growth. The pen creates a precise pattern of small wounds and promotes healing to reduce acne scarring, fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, lip lines, and rosacea.  With topical numbing, there is minimal discomfort.

This treatment provides dramatic results in collagen stimulation, wrinkle and fine line reduction, pore size reduction, scar and acne scar, and pigmentation.  Leading to an overall improved skin tone, color, and texture. Some patients need only one treatment to see visible results. Though, most will need a series of treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, dependent on the condition to be treated and the desired outcome.

MICRO-NEEDLING FAQ

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • We recommend using a retinol product on your skin for 6 weeks prior to starting a microneedling series, but be sure to avoid any retinol product for 3 days prior to your appointment. It's important to note that microneedling cannot be done on an area with an active bacterial, viral/fungal infection, or acne.

What can I expect after my appointment?

  • Side effects are minimal and typically include minor flaking or dryness of the skin with scab formation in rare cases. Your skin may appear pink or red, like a sun burn, for 24-48 hrs after your treatment. Minor bruising is possible depending on the aggressiveness of the procedure. After treatment, do not wash your face for the first 24 hours & avoid sweaty exercise or sun exposure for 72 hours.

What results can I expect?

  • Microneedling is great for improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, large pores and texture issues. For best results, a series of 3 or 6 treatments spaced every 4-6 weeks is recommended.
