Sciton’s BBL HERO is an anti-aging treatment that targets hyperpigmentation or "brown spots". BBL Hero utilizes the power of broadband light, which is considered the gold standard of intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. During a BBL HERO treatment, quick pulses of light are directed through the upper layers of the skin at pigmented or vascular lesions. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate new collagen.
This process restores skin to its natural beauty by blending natural colors, making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking. Any area of your body may be treated with BBL but the most common areas are those that have been most exposed to the damaging effects of sunlight. Most popular areas treated are face, neck, back of hands, chest, and shoulders. The number of treatments is determined by your desired level of improvement and the extent or severity of damage.
How BBL Hero Works
For this procedure, your eyes will be protected while the laser is being used. The BBL handpiece is passed over the target areas and you will feel a warming sensation with each flash of light as it's absorbed. The Sciton BBL handpiece incorporates a cooling plate that keeps the surface of your skin comfortable throughout treatment and does not require a numbing cream. Each body part takes only minutes to treat and it's gentle, noninvasive, and safe. After treatment, you may have some redness which will resolve quickly. For hyperpigmentation, you will see a darkening of the treated areas which will fade and flake a few days after treatment. In most cases, you will be able to immediately go back to work, apply makeup and resume most activities.
After your procedure, it's important to avoid direct sunlight and ultraviolet light. It is recommended that until completely healed, you should fully cover your skin and use a strong sunscreen.
